As Easter approaches, it’s the perfect time to gather with loved ones and celebrate the arrival of spring. And what better way to bring the beauty of the season to your table than with a fresh, hand-crafted flower arrangement? Our Easter Table Flowers Workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to create a stunning centrepiece using beautiful seasonal blooms, all while embracing sustainable floral design.

The Joy of Seasonal Spring Flowers

Easter and spring go hand in hand, bringing with them an abundance of fresh, delicate flowers that symbolise renewal, hope, and new beginnings. Many of the blooms that emerge at this time of year hold special meanings. Daffodils (Narcissus), with their bright yellow petals, represent rebirth and new life, making them a fitting symbol for Easter celebrations. Tulips, often associated with love and warmth, bring a touch of elegance and charm to any arrangement. Hellebores, sometimes called the ‘Lenten Rose,’ are associated with serenity, peace and tranquility and add a delicate, timeless beauty to floral displays. Not forgetting the abundance of Hyacinth and Muscari that is available. By working with what’s naturally available at this time of year, we honour nature’s rhythms and celebrate its beauty in the most authentic way.

A Sustainable Approach to Floral Design

Here, at The Northern Flower Garden, we are always looking to introduce more sustainable floristry techniques into our workshops to help you create designs that are not only beautiful but also kind to the planet. Instead of floral foam, which is non-biodegradable and harmful to the environment, in this workshop we will be using a reusable container and chicken wire to provide structure and support for your flowers. This method allows for a more natural, free-flowing arrangement while ensuring that your design is eco-friendly and long-lasting. Sustainable floristry is about making thoughtful choices, using seasonal flowers sourced locally where possible, avoiding unnecessary plastic waste, and embracing natural mechanics that can be reused time and again. By adopting these techniques, you can enjoy floristry in a way that respects and nurtures the environment.
